Slainte!
hallo, hallo, what 'ave we 'ere? Good day to you blog readers. I just returned from a weekend of carousing mit meine mutti at the SeaSide Highland Games in Ventura. We adorned ourselves in the proper tartan and tried not to look like tourists, alas, we appeared as such. Had a grrrand time of it, we did! Thinking about clubbing the girls and taking them along next year, as I may have to drag them by the hair to get them there, but once there I believe we'd have to club and drag them away. LOL! Fair weather here lately. Steven is testing for his green belt in Tae Kwon Do, on the 24th. I have a few pix I am going to attempt to share. Not good at this sort of thing. New computer and all! May be later today or in a few days. Must dash! Slainte!!

Greeting fellow momlings...what's new, you ask? Well...deep breath...Shelby is flipping her way thru level 4 gymnastics 3 days a week from 6-8:30, she will start competing in the spring, right when her Tae Kwon Do is finished, which is twice a week, and then flag football at school, (she and her best friend are the only girls on the team!!) all the while maintaining a 4.0 GPA. Yeah...whatever!! Unlike dear old mom :( lol! ... Sydney is in Gymnastics once a week, brownies, cheer at school, and Tae Kwon Do... Steven is in Gymnastics and Tae Kwon Do... and Shane and Scott are tring their skills in a fundamental soccer class...Whew...breathe!! Hubbykins is mountain biking 3-4 days a week...and me? the hired help? I just am in awe of all these lovely wunderkind, oh yeah, and along the way, I have managed to earn my yellow belt in Tae Kwon Do with the kids. Personally I like the gear...just dress 'em up and throw them in a room and say, "go to it!" Kidding!! We like to spar. All in all it's purdy fun. c u soon, hast la winnebago!!

Hey...been awhile since the last blog...shazzam!! Have we have been busy!! We took a road trip with all 5 kids from so cal to oregon, by way of crater lake...beautiful! We spent July 4th at my brother's house. Up there they can have fireworks right in their front yard. I was so excited to share the experience and memories I have from my youth with sparklers...you know...spelling your name in the air, the smoke in your eyes, and the burn on your wrist when one of the glowing embers settles gently on your tender skin...! Yeow! We were also humbled by the sheer enormity of the Spruce Goose. The children wanted to fly in it!! We saw a few IMAX movies in 3D. All in all it was one of the best road trips I have ever been on, but I must say THANK GOD FOR DVD PLAYERS!!! TTYL, the MOM.

what the hail??
Yesterday was one of my days off. I even took the twins to the babysitter!! I saw the Indiana Jones movie with my husband and went for lunch afterwards. Now, this has been one of the most memorable springs as far as the weather...but hail? Yesterday we had sun, rain, thunder, lightning, hail, flash floods, and a couple of quite large tornadoes, all during the feast. Wow! That sure made today boring...just rain. Not much planned for the weekend, just a bbq. ttyl

snail day
two weeks ago, the twins wouldn't go near a slimy, squirmy, yucky snail...they even screamed when one was torturously brought toward them by one of their loving older siblings, (who get satisfaction of seeing just who can make their little brothers scream louder). But today...they are picking them up and showing me..."look mommy...snail...it's yucky". Hopefully they won't go the the way of their mother, who, I am told by my mother, used to bite the eyes off of them. Yeah, I know...barf!! I believe my brain shut that one out to protect me...lol. I will try to write once a week. Salutations!!
